Hi, I'm Paul 👋

I make computers do interesting things.

I'm a software consultant/developer, originally from New Zealand. Over the last decade I’ve worked with everyone from early-stage startups like EyeCandyLab, TrainingMeals or Ellie to medium-sized businesses like Carescribe, Visard, Adspert, or Screentime Labs all the way up to giants like Google, NASA, and the Chinese aerospace leader COMAC.

I’ve worked with Paul for over 4 months and plan to continue working with him in the future. Paul is highly competent, an excellent communicator and problem solver. He has wide ranging knowledge about different technologies and is happy to quickly learn on the job if there is a small gap.

The thing I like most about working with Paul is his attitude. He gets the job done on time with a smile and a laugh. Life is too short to work with boring people. Let’s have fun while we build.

I highly recommend working with Paul.

Who have I worked with?

A lot of the more fun stuff I've done is under NDA, but here's a few past clients I can share. Click a project for details!

I've helped take multiple startups from idea/concept, through their seed stage and into ongoing funding. And I’ve built everything from high-performance big-data systems to complex web applications to mobile VR networking.

And if you play independent games on Android, you’re likely using code I’ve worked on.

I've got a lot of experience understanding complex business requirements and converting them to specifications other developers or implementing them myself. I thrive on ambiguity and really like being the first person working on a new greenfield project, figuring out what the business needs to implement. I'm now an independent consultant, helping build interesting things with startups and bigger companies around the world.

I'm originally from New Zealand 🥝 but after stints in Asia and Africa, nowdays I'm based in Lisbon 🇵🇹☀️🏖️.
